Spent on a couple of books today at the book sale in school. We were all going gaga over how cheap the books all were. Cleo got hold of some serious good design books on graphic design and illustration, a total of $60. In all of the rejects, I found two legit books. Only $10 each! Haven't bought a book since what seemed like eons.
Star Wars Art: Comic brings together the very best artworks from the entire history of Star Wars comic publishing. Can't say I'm a true fan of Star Wars or anything because I've only watched it when I was really young and I don't remember what it was about. All I remember was that I used to be a huuuuge fan of Queen Amidala (I even had her doll and water bottle) when I was 4 or 5. Ok so I found this book and fell deeply in love with the illustrations! For 10 dollars, I knew I have to get this.
My friends were like 'Aiya why buy illustration book when you're going to major in graphic design!!' Frankly, illustrations inspire me so much more than graphic design. I don't know if I will be able to work well with typography and shit like that (I hope I will so). So I got myself this book of The Best of Brochure Design. Haven't gone through it as much as the book above but oh well. I hope it'll help me in so many ways.
I really hope I can make up my mind for a lot of things so it'll be easier to start working on my passion which, for now, is kind of unknown.
